Welcome to the Grand Library Historical Arhive.386
I can teleport you back to the Grand Library. Would you like to leave now?134
This is the Historical Archive of Great Kourend. Here you'll find historical documents and texts from all eras of Great Kourend's history, dating all the way back to the first decade.62
We store the most important texts here for further study and additional protection.48
Are you looking for something in particular?44
Well you've come to the right place. What would you like to know?39
Ah yes, I know of that expedition. King Shayzien VII's reign was quite a violent one according to the history books. The expedition to Quidamortem was part of his aggressive plans to expand Kourend's territory.39
I'm afraid I can't help you there, all the evidence we have tells us that the expedition had no survivors.39
It would seem that way. However, if you do want to learn more about King Shayzien VII it might be worth talking to Pagida. He's recently been investigating the kings' additions to the Tower of Magic.39
I have heard that name, though we have very few records from before the founding of Kourend. Perhaps Imerominia could help you? She is the Horologist of the library; such ancient topics may fall within her purview.35
Unfortunately, the expedition was a failure and the entire party was killed. The king himself died a few years later and was succeeded by the tyrant Xeric. No more expeditions were ordered under his rule.32
Does that help you?31
Don't touch that!23
That is an ancient relic recovered from the Chambers of Xeric. It's a powerful artefact, and we're still studying its powers.23
My name is Istoria. I'm the chief historian and curator of the histrical archive.22
Is there something else I can help you with?18
Ah, Xeric, our most infamous ruler... We do have extensive records regarding Xeric; you can examine some of the texts here or speak to Ektheme, our Xerician expert.10
Our first records of the Mountain date back to the mid-thirty-sixth decade where a Shayzien patrol discovered the mountain during a survey of the western lands. King Shayzien VII was keen on5
conquering more land for Kourend and demanded his people explore suitable territories.5
The mountain became known as Mount Quidamortem some decades later, after it was realised venturing towards the summit resulted in certain death.5
Gnosi is our expert on Mount Quidamortem but I'm afraid she's currently on an expedition to the Temple near the summit of the mountain. However we do have some texts available detailing the great expedition.5
Wintertodt, or the Winter beast as it was known at the time, terrorised northern Kourend for five decades. Logios is currently studying the Wintertodt Invasion, and we have various texts from that era.5
